My observations on the actors of "Jane Eyre"

Beautiful spectres

Floating before me, born of

Flesh and blood yet

Made fantastic by the

Roles they play.

A start

Unsure

Time

Patience

Roles take form, like

A mantle settling

A veil drawing over their very nature

Yet combining with that nature

Bringing something more than the two to life.

Literary specters

Shades of principle

Walking beside reality

In invitation

In warning

Changing the spirits in the

Flesh and blood

Held captive under their theatrical spell.

Laundry, Cow dung, Cheese, COVID and Bears...oh my!

There once was a pile of laundry.
It lived in the midst of the pottery.
The first day was fine
But then he did find
He was covered with cream and strawberries.
--Miss Butterfly

There once was a pile of cow dung,
That made people flee from the house-tung,
And there they were fed
From the horses shed
And missed the big pile of cow dung.
--Miss Butterfly, dedicated to Dad

CHEESE
I once stepped on a package of cheese,
Which then let out a tremendous wheeze.
Then blew up my car
And turned into tar
These are all idiosyncrasies.
--Kangaroo....Rat

There once was a great big bear
Who was covered all over with hari.
One day he did shave
Oh boy! What a knave!
And now all the people do stare.
--Zoey Zephyr

If ever your dad is a poo poo
And makes you some fractions to fight through
Just hold your head high
And give them a try
Til nat'rally them you can do, do.

--Mark Wilson

COVID
From China it came like a blitz,
This Corona that's giving us fits!
But people keep dying
So we'll keep on trying
To wear masks and cough in our pits.

Pigs, Wigs and Jigs

The pig
In the wig
Did a jig
On a twig.

Then the twig broke.

That pig
In a wig
Don't jig no more.

Haiku for You (and other poems)

Miss Cupcake
(With her first ever published poem!)
Slingshot, slingshot
They are fun!
I like to do slingshots
Slingshots are fun!

Miss Butterfly

Monsters
Terrible, Frightening, Scary Monsters

Butter
Slippery, sliding, sticky butter

Horses
Prancing, jumping,
Running all around the meadow
Where the horses play

Home
Cozy, warm, safe
Home is where I want to be
Because my family is there
(To keep me safe)

Mr. Rutabaga
(formerly known as "Lightning Man")
I'm going to impress
I'm going to rhyme a haiku
"I can tie my shoe"

Kangaroo Rat
I like pie and cheese
Also real-ly yummy peas
Oh, my! That sounds good.

Nature Sees
Nature sees Bees and Trees
Natures sees Everything!
Flowers, Trees and Seeds.

Nature sees anything:
Bees, trees, seeds, flowers, colors, hives, ponds,
Frogs, bogs, fogs, dogs, hogs.

Wapeaberry
(Dedicated to Spooner and Binks)

Little Brothers
They are full of smiles
They play games outside with me
Yes, I love them so!

Zoe Zephyr
(based upon her recent reading of "Monkey": a folktale of China)
Seeking endless life
Monkey leaves home and monkeys
Brazen fool in heaven

Stealing the peaches
Upsetting Heavenly Feasts
Monkey cares little

Monkey travels on
Battling goofy battles
Against Heavenly Hosts

Monkey spits his haris
They become mini-monkeys
Which gain him victory

Family Haiku
I love to do Haiku
It makes me want to sneeze
Watch out all!  Ah-choo!

The Oyster's Work

I am a happy oyster sitting gently in the sand.
The turtles pass,
the seals bark,
The seaweed waves from where they stand.

I have within a tiny pearl created from the dirt,
A tiny speck
That sifted down
Left over from the laughing surf.

I watch as dancing clouds skiff briskly over head
The sea gulls cry
The rain dumps down
I rest without the slightest dread.

The seahorses all gently sway in prancing and delight,
The otters play,
The eels cavort,
My own foot is secure and tight.

Adding layer after layer upon this gem inside
Taking time
An eye of faith
Can see the treasure deep inside.

Splashing giddily above, the heron and the trout
Can only see
The hardened crust
No evidence to what I'm about.

One day I'll open wide to God to show the gem within,
The miracle
Shaped from the sand
My inner precious gift to Him.

Creation

Creation
Order from Chaos
Beauty  emerges from the Darkness
Energy and Perfection Poured into Matter
A Proving Ground
A place to experience all the wonderous sensations and trials
that would make us gods.

Whether it is Worlds without Number
Or one Life
Seven Days
or
One Lifetime
Something from Nothing
The Wonder of God's Wisdom
Majesty and Might
Is the Miracle of
Creation

Rhyming Fun!

Hat and Cat
Rhyming fun!
Dog and Frog
Play in the sun.
Bike and Trike
Cruising fast.
Wish and Fish
Swimming past.
Tie and Pie
Remind me of Drew.
Draw and Paw
That's Lily, too!
Sweet and Petite
My Piper dear.
Kind I find
When Hava's near.
Bright and Sprite
That's Miss Maia Moo.
Hunk and Spunk
My Chugger--...naut.
Rhyme and Time
It's been so fun.
Fit to Quit
And now I'm done!

Unheard Song

Unheard song
Awaiting a chin
The violin's bow brings it to life.

Unheard song
Stirring within
Bringing peace, quenching strife.

Unheard song
Wondering when
It will be heard, soaring high.

Unheard song
Bringing a grin
When bubbling, jumbling it spills out awry!

Unheard song
Hiding in sin
An unclean vessel keeping it down.

Unheard song
Emerging again
Joyful, cleansed, triumphant it sounds!

For many a life's
A song unheard
Potential hiding deep inside.

Waiting and hoping
Someday to be stirred
Squelched by evil, sin and pride.

When once again
The soul is pure
The song comes soaring, lifting on.

Rising, swelling
Until on high
It wings itself into the dawn.
