Worm Poo (or "Me vs. the Leaves")--Zoe Zephyr

Rain is falling all around
Puddles everywhere abound
Splash, splash, splash, such fun, fun, fun!
Until they vanish in the sun.

Sun is shining everywhere,
Could fry you up, have a care!
Sunscreen, pools, and shade galore--
The greening leaves the warmth adore.

Leaves are falling from the tree
Drifting, drifting down on me
Time to rake up every one.
Boy, this job sure is fun!

Leaves are falling all around
From far and near without a sound.
Hey! This one's from the neighbor's yard.
Raking leave sure can be hard!!

Leaves are falling yet again...
Hither, thither, yon...oh man!
Dad wants it all in a pile,
'Ware the wind can make it wild!

Leave still falling, what the hey!
Where do they come from anyway?!
This rake and I are now best friends...
Might as well, job never ends.

Leaves are falling...wait, tis snow!
Thought it wouldn't end, you know.
Now the rake and I are through,
Plows and shovels overdue!

Snow is falling all around
On the rooftops, on the ground.
Snow is falling on my nose,
On my head, my hands and toes.

Snow is falling, soft and white,
Covers all, oh! What a sight!
Leaves are buried; time to roll
Men and women out of snow!

Snow is rolled up, what is this?!
Leaves upon my snowy Miss!
Shoot, these leaves are everywhere,
From the tippy top to their dairy-aire.

Rain is falling, snow is gone,
Spring is showing on the lawn.
Leaves are broken down, it's true,
All ground up into worm poo.

Rain and leaves and sun and snow,
Seasons come and seasons go.
And between the worms and me
We'll get all those leaves, you'll see!
